At Signify Health, a CVS Health® company, our mission is to build trusted relationships to make people healthier. Our national network of more than 12,000 clinicians works to help people gain a more comprehensive view of their health by conducting In-Home Health Evaluations (IHEs). During an IHE, clinicians identify chronic conditions, close gaps in care, and address social determinants of health, making it possible for health plan members to get connected to the right care for their unique needs.

We’re proud to showcase the clinicians helping us build a more connected, effective care experience for all – and their personal stories that make this important work feel #ClosetoHome. This is Andreya and Gloria's story.

For Andreya Beckett (left) and Gloria Littleton (right), being clinicians is in their blood. Born in Fort Wayne, Indiana, and now based in Indianapolis, both sisters were inspired by their father, a doctor who instilled in them a deep passion for helping others. They’ve spent their careers pursuing this calling, and today, both work as nurse practitioners (NP) at Signify Health, where they have found their professional home.

Andreya’s journey began first. After passing her NP certification in 2019, she joined Signify Health in March 2020. Gloria, who had been working in case management at a busy hospital, came on board in July 2022. Despite their different paths, both sisters were drawn to Signify Health for the opportunity to make a direct, meaningful impact on health plan members in the home setting.

“I’ve always been familiar with the home health care setting, and the flexibility to create my own schedule is something I truly value,” says Andreya. “Every day, I get to travel around and provide that intimate, one-on-one care that makes a real difference.” For Gloria, having worked as an RN and LPN in home health care, this role with Signify Health felt like a natural fit. “I was working in a hospital, doing case management, and it was a tough, busy environment. At Signify Health, I get to go places I never imagined, right into people’s homes.”

While the sisters work separately in their respective roles, they still share the unique experience of providing In-Home Health Evaluations (IHEs) in members’ homes, which strengthens their bond. “We never really thought about the fact that we were sisters and both did this,” says Andreya. “But now, it’s amazing that we get to help people in the same field, even though we’re working separately.” Their shared commitment to members is rooted in the values their father instilled in them. “Our dad would have worked for free,” Gloria says. “He was a doctor because he loved helping people, not for the money.”

Both sisters view their roles as a way to give health plan members more than just an IHE—they aim to ensure every member feels heard and understood. In their day-to-day work, they encounter a diverse group of members, many of whom face barriers such as language differences. Gloria often works with members on the south side of Indianapolis, a diverse area with a large immigrant population. “Sometimes, I have to wait on hold to get a translator,” she says. “But it’s worth it. When we can communicate with someone who might have felt left behind in a doctor’s office, it makes all the difference.”

Andreya echoes this sentiment, noting that meeting members in the home provides a unique opportunity to connect with people in ways traditional offices can’t. “In the office, doctors only have so much time,” she says. “But in the home, I can take the time to go over their medications, answer questions, and explain how certain medical devices work. It’s about giving them a deeper understanding of their health and helping them feel more confident, which often leads to better compliance.”

When it comes to engaging with hesitant members, both sisters prioritize simplicity and empathy. “I try to keep things straightforward,” Gloria explains. “People can get intimidated, so I make sure they know I’m here for them—to help them on their health care journey and provide education and support.” Andreya takes a similar approach, often calling members before arriving to reassure them. “I make sure to explain who I am and why I’m coming,” she says. “That personal touch goes a long way in building trust.”

Outside of their roles at Signify Health, both Andreya and Gloria lead busy lives as moms. Andreya has a 12-year-old son who is all about academics and honors classes, while Gloria’s 15-year-old daughter is a talented clarinet player in her high school marching band, aspiring to become an occupational therapist. “We try to get together as often as possible,” Gloria shares. “It’s nice to catch up and spend time with family.”

Looking back on their journey, both sisters are proud of how far they’ve come. “Our father passed away early in our lives. Because of that, we had a different upbringing, and people didn’t always believe in us,” says Andreya. “But we knew we were going to make it. We started as medical assistants, then became nurses, and now we’re nurse practitioners. To be where we are today, helping people—it feels amazing.”

Gloria agrees, adding, “It just feels like this is what we were meant to do. We’re on the right path.” Together, they continue their father’s legacy, making a difference in the lives of those they care for, one member at a time.
